About the Project
Listen. Reflect. Dive Deeper. These words are displayed on the home page of the site but what do they mean? From Faithless is a project of faith walks and “spiritual TED talks.” I hope this project helps move you towards expanding your own understand of Christianity, faith, and faith-based topics. From Faithless aims to have the audience do three things.
Listen. This site includes five testimonies from five different college students. Your first step is to watch and listen to people tell their stories. Stories of growth and learning, of heartbreak and sadness. They will tell you about their journey in faith or to faith, and how they have overcome roadblacks to faith.
Reflect. The videos can be emotional and bring up deep issues and topics. Each story of the project will include a brief reflection guide for the viewer to help link their story to your story. Feel free to take the time to journal from the questions or pray on them.
Dive Deeper. This part is all about connecting their story to the story of faith we see in the Bible. Based on associated passages, these small studies or devotionals aim to get you into the Bible and see where truth and promises are. After all, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16). Studying the bible is different than studying other literature. When we study other "regular" literature we end up deciding that what we discover is just an interpretation of the text. When studying the bible we actually aim to academically discover what the author’s intention is. In this study of scripture, we believe that we are guided by the Holy Spirit which is our helper in faith. Through this academic discovery, we know who God is. While I do have my commentary on the passages in this section, I encourage you to dig into what I say and test it against other scripture and other biblical commentaries.

About the author
My name is Adele Gendron. I am senior at the University of Michigan completing her Capstone course for the Minor in Writing. This project has been in my mind for a couple of years now and I am glad to see it finally moving into a space outside of my brain.
The first and most important part of my life to know is that I love Jesus. My story is shared on another page, so I won’t spoil it, but that statement hasn’t always been the case. I am engaged to be married to the love of my life, and future pastor, Joel (impatiently awaiting August 8, 2019)! I’m a writer for Concordia Publishing House’s Youth Ministry blog and interned with their education marketing team over summer 2018. When I’m not in school or working, you can catch me listening to podcasts, reading, watching movies, singing, or spending time with the people I love. “From Faithless” is a passion project. I am devoted to serving others and sharing the Gospel. My prayer is that this project would deepen faith and expand understanding. |
